Infinite Space

I made this piece to evoke the feeling of slowing down time to the point where it becomes irrelevant and we are merely existing unbound by time. My photographs suggest infinite space and worlds unknown. I believe we try too hard to assign meaning to things rather than simply appreciating their beauty. I'm emphasizing the importance of our being in the present and aware of our surroundings because that's where we can embrace true inner peace and wisdom. This journey starts with self and manifests as an aura that projects our heightened reality.

I used my canon t3i to capture these photographs in a moving vehicle. I let the light trails be my focal point since they carry so much emotion with their movement. I slowed the shutter speed to produce this effect on the lights.

Transcend

This book made me really reflect on self, which gave me a lot of clarity on the meaning of life. The purpose of this book was to give people the experience of what meditation can offer and create in our minds. The text and visuals have this airy feeling to them to invite others on this journey of embracing life and self. The photographs are places that I have seen in person and bring me this sense of comfort. People can think of all the things that they are grateful for in this lifetime and apply that same energy to their inner being. We make time and space for things in our lives that bring us to our higher selves, a version that has a real soul purpose.

The photographs were taken in Traverse City, MI , Scottsdale, AZ , and Chicago, IL. The text I pulled from spiritual mentors that I admire so deeply and profoundly. Everything that was placed in this book is tied to my spiritual journey and self growth.

In the Solitude

This book speaks of an artist named David Smith who was a famous sculptor at his time. I take people on this journey of his career and to emphasize the value in his work. The layout throughout the book gives people this visual experience of his work and how it shaped him into a successful artist. I envisioned the imagery and text to have a playful feel resembling the sculptures that he has created. Every chapter intro has a silhouette of one of his sculptures, the colors and orientation change throughout each chapter adding to this playfulness.

Dark & Light

This book goes along with my poster series "Evolution of Self", the Raven in this book is my spirit animal it guides me through the massive transitions in my inner and outer world. The words that I use describe my internal world and the Raven brings awareness to all that I need to change. I discover that I can get closer to self when I experience my shadow, I can embrace the tough lessons in my life and I can bring the light. The bolded text is a significant part of my spiritual lesson.
